How It Started

although belum fly lagi, but so far, my vision sampai jugak la.

it started when i was 4 years old. my uncle always go to japan for work and he was the one who taught me my first Japanese word, "wakarimasen" which means i dont understand. since then, i wanted to go studying in Japan.

then, when i was in standard 5, mama bought me 4 BMW cars miniatures. really cute cars. and since then, i wanted to be an engineer. but at that time, i was a red crescent society member and i was influenced to be a doctor. but as time goes by, i became soo geli with cuts, wounds and blood. well, blood...geli and also making me feel dizzy abit. standard 5... new uniform and my prefect teacher bought us a Universiti Malaya's tie pin. and that time, i was like "wow, universiti malaya... i wanna study there one day". but i was berbelah bahagi coz i wanted to study in japan too.

when i was in form 3, there was the KL-Putrajaya highway construction infront of my school, SMK Bukit Jalil. i was so excited seeing the construction works especially when they do a research about the soil. thus, i wanted to be a civil engineer. that was also the time when my frens and i went to Universiti Malaya and did the Mathematics Olimpiad quiz. the first time i entered the enrance,

"One day, i'll be here again, as universiti malaya's student," i said to myself as thinking how can i go to japan. coz i really dont know how can i study there? plus i wanna study in UM. or i wanna go to Japan. which one????!!!

then, during hari raya, i saw in the newspaper "salam perantauan". i saw a group of malaysians students photo there. they were MARA scholarship students. and that time, i knew that if i wanna go to japan, i must get a scholarship.

when i was in form 5, i was one of the host family for a homestay program from Japan. and that was the time i met Akihito Nonaka. he was 12 that time. so cute. he is from Toyota City, a city which is near to Nagoya City. both of the cities are in the same prefecture, the Aichi prefecture. i wanted to go studying in Nagoya eversince. as i was in form 4 and 5, i heard about my seniors doing preparatory program and all before going overseas. that time, i said to myself, "if they can do it, so do i."

so, i worked hard to get straight As in SPM. although i do played alot when i was in form4 and 5. but thanks to the continuous support from my family, teachers and friends(who forced me to study), i got 9 1A and 2 A2. the A2s were of course sejarah and biology... those were and are still my weakest points. the good news was not only for me, but also to the whole school coz that year, 66 of us got Straight As. i love my school, Sekolah Sains Seri Puteri KL. na-ah, its not the sekolah seri puteri in Cyberjaya ok..

then, i got the interview with JPA at Putrajaya convention centre on 3rd april. in my interview, i said that i wanna be a car engineer so that i could make the best malaysian car ever. thats why i wanna go to japan. i wanna bring back the technology and the experience i have there and help Malaysia. coz im sick of hearing people complaining about our national cars. seriously.

and then, on my mum's bday(17 apr 2008), i got a call. it was 8 am.

"Hello?" i said.

"Hello, saya pegawai dari JPA," that caller said.

"ha~" i said.

"ini Ili Fatimah Abd Razak ke?" she said.

"ye saya. kenapa?" i asked.

"tahniah ye cik ili. kamu baru sahaja mendapat tawaran untuk belajar ke Jepun."

"ha? oh. terima kasih," i said, shocked.

"pergi ambil pen dan kertas dan salin ni ye."

"ok"

"pada 21 april, sila datang ke Ambang Asuhan Jepun Universiti Malaya. pakaian formal. bawa ic, surat beranak, dan sijil2 berkenaan. 15 keping gambar pasport, RM300 untuk yuran kolej, rm100 untuk hostel. bawa selimut, bantal, bedsheet, daily necessities, sports wear dan kasut. dah salin?"

"dah. mm, duduk kat sana sampai bila?" i asked, thinking that it was like educamp like in UTP.

"Terus duduk kat sana lah. belajar terus, dua tahun kat situ." she replied.

"HAAA??!!!" i said, shocked.

"aah, terus start belajar,"she said calmly.

"ha~" i said, speechless.

"ada apa2 persoalan lagi?" she asked.

"mm..takde da. terima kasih," i said, looked at my mom and said

"ma, im going to Japan"

she was soooo happy and that was the best birthday present.

and then, 2 years later, i passed my exams and then, yesterday, i got a very good news.

im accepted in Nagoya Institute of Technology.

so, that was how my dream dari confuse macam mana nak belajar kat UM if nak pergi jepun? kepada lah nak pergi ke nagoya.. harap2 more good things to come in the future. insyaallah.

although belum fly lagi ni, so far, my dreams ma~ boleh la kata tercapai sikit. and Alhamdulillah for that. Thank you Allah.

my story havent got it's ending just yet. ni kan baru permulaan je. from now on.
